WHO WE ARE
Workers’ Dignity was founded in 2010 by a group of labor, faith, immigrant, and community leaders who saw workers getting taken advantage of and wanted to build something to challenge power. Since our beginnings, we have been led by low-wage workers who lead our organization as board members, leaders, and members and are grounded in direct action tactics.
Since then, Workers' Dignity has led public campaigns that pressure large corporations and agencies to do better by their workers, including hotel housekeepers across 13 different hotels, tenants in low-income housing, and public transit riders. Our work is community-led, and that means that we work in collaboration with workers and community members.
If you are interested in collaborating with us or want to join our weekly workers nights to accompany low-wage workers who are standing up to exploitative bosses, please click "Join the Fight" for next steps.
