Turn Up & Turn Out This Week! Several Ways to Stand Up

On Thursday, 6:30pm, Workers’ Dignity is hosting a forum on Amendment 1, which if passed on November 7th, will create a Community Oversight Board of police abuses. The next two weeks are critical to mobilizing voters to approve this measure giving the community more of a voice in addressing racial profiling and violence against Black and Brown Nashvillians.

Saturday is a big day for Workers Dignity too! On Saturday, 2:00pm, Walk Bike Nashville and Music City Riders United will honor the lives of 40 pedestrians killed while crossing the streets in Nashville since 2017. We’re demanding that city officials and TDOT bring pedestrian safety into neighborhoods that consist predominantly people of color and low-income.

There are many ways you can show up and stand for racial and economic justice this week.

… Will you join us?

All day Saturday, 104.1FM WDYO is teaming up with LASSO for the Bang 4 Liberation block party at 610 N. 3rd St. Community clean-up 10am-12pm. Block party 2:30pm-6pm. As East Nashville rapidly gentrifies, and 1000s in our communities are being displaced, it’s more important than ever to join together, share our struggles, and recruit our neighbors to the workers movement.
